Exciting news! Scrap Local’s founder, Martin Handley, was a finalist for the National Entrepreneur Awards!

Organised by the Entrepreneurs Circle, Scrap Local was nominated for one of the most prestigious business awards: The Entrepreneur Of The Year.

The awards were hosted at the ICC in Birmingham and presented by best selling author and Britain’s Got Talent judge, David Walliams.

Whilst we didn’t bag a trophy, we’re proud to have been apart of the biggest and best Entrepreneurs Circle event!

Why Was Scrap Local Nominated For The Awards?

2021 has been another difficult year for independent businesses. Despite this, Scrap Local has succeeded in more ways than one!

We’ve far exceeded our 2020 target when we reached 100 collection agents between August and December.

As of today, we have over 450 scrap yards listed and verified on our network and 150 collection agents working with us to remove scrap vehicles nationwide.

As a result of our achievements we’ve started to make a name for ourselves in the scrap industry.

We’ve been nominated for several other awards, including the esteemed National Recycling Awards, and in August we were featured in Channel 5’s Car Pound Cops: Give Me My Car Back! to show how scrap yards play a part in taking nuisance vehicles off the roads in the UK.

Scrap Local’s team are still buzzing after meeting David Walliams and industry leaders at the National Entrepreneur Awards.

We’re shocked by how far we’ve come and look forward to attending the National Recycling Awards at the Hilton Park Lane!
