Step 1: Submit An Online Enquiry

First, you need to fill in our online form to enquire about scrapping your car with us.

On our scrap car form, you will need to provide us with:

  • REG of the vehicle you want to scrap
  • Your postcode
  • Your name and contact details
  • Whether your car has alloy wheels
  • Whether it’s a complete vehicle

Once you’ve completed our online form and submitted this information to Scrap Local’s team, you’ll receive a telephone call where you’ll be quoted a price to scrap your vehicle.

If you’re happy with the price you’ve been offered, then you can book your car in for collection with us during this telephone call!

Step 2: Book Your Car In For Collection

Once you’ve submitted an enquiry to scrap your car with us, we’ll give you a call on the contact number you’ve provided.

During this telephone conversation we will:

  • Confirm your details
  • Offer you a scrap price for your vehicle
  • Arrange a collection date
  • Discuss what you need on the day of collection
  • Take your payment details

Scrap prices are provided securely via BACS transfer.

We do a payment run between 17:00 – 18:00 each day so it’s advised that you provide your bank details as soon as possible.

If you don’t have access to your payment details when we call you, then please ring us back on 01706 577 574 to provide us with them at a later point.

Our head office and call centre are open between 08:30 – 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

Step 3: Get Ready For The Day Of Collection

You will receive a call from our driver to say that they’re on their way on the day of collection.

Please answer your phone when this happens as your vehicle may not be collected on time if you don’t.

On the day of collection, you need to have the following items ready for our driver:

  • Keys to your vehicle
  • Valid photo ID e.g. passport or driving licence
  • Vehicle log book (V5C)

You don’t need a vehicle log book to scrap a car in the UK, however this document will speed up the overall process.
