Table of Contents
When Will I Expect I Collection?
Our drivers will ring you 30 minutes to 1 hour before collection to let you know they are on their way.
This allows you enough time to get prepared with any requirements documents.
You will also recieve a confirmation text and email of when your vehicle is due to be picked up.
Can You Scrap My Car When I'm Not There?
If you’re at work or out of town, we can still have your vehicle collected.
As you, the registered keeper, is not present, we will need some valid photo ID from someone you can trust.
They will have to be present at the location of the vehicle to handle collection with transport.
What If I Need Special Access Arrangements?
If your vehicle is in a particularly difficult area to reach we recommend you notify us prior to collection.
This is due to the fact we may need to contact our transport team for special vehicle arrangements.
We will have explained this but if anything does change, please let us know beforehand.
Can You Collect An Abandoned Vehicle?
Yes, we can collect a range of abandoned and nuisance vehicles.
We do advise however you need to get in touch with your local council and ensure this has been reported with sufficient notice given.
It’s important to note that we can only provide a free collection for abandoned/nuisance vehicles and can not offer you a price, as you’re not the legal owner.
Can I Drop My Car Off Instead?
No, unfortunately, you can’t drop off your vehicle at our partner’s sites.
Although, as standard, we offer a fast and free scrap car collection service in most areas nationwide.
Why drop it off when we collect?! We will pick up your vehicle from any location at a time that suits you, completely free of charge.
What Do I Need On The Day Of Collection?
On the day of collection, please have the following to hand:
- Valid Photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s licence.
- Your V5C, which our driver can help you fill out.
- Keys to the vehicle
If you can’t find the log book don’t worry, as long as you have the keys and Photo ID we can still scrap the vehicle for you.
Can I Change The Date Of My Collection?
If your availability suddenly changes, not to worry as we can still accommodate you.
Please notify us ideally before the day of collection if you need to change your collection time.
We will then arrange another suitable collection date for you.
Can You Collect My Vehicle Wih No Wheels?
We can only collect complete vehicles that have wheels.
We can not winch your vehicle onto the flat bead as this will damage our collection truck.
Why Will I Be Paid After Collection?
We make payment after collection to ensure the vehicle is complete and as described.
- Your vehicle must be collected and scrapped in order for payment to be made.
- Once your vehicle has been collected and crushed, payment will be sent via secure contactless BACS transfer or by cheque.
- We cannot provide on-the-spot cash on collection as this was banned under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.
Why Can I Only Recieve A C.O.D After My Car's Collected?
A Certificate of Destruction, also known as a C.O.D, can be provided upon request once your vehicle has been scrapped.
- Once collected, your vehicle will be processed and crushed at an Approved Treatment Facility (A.T.F)
- Once Crushed, the A.T.F can generate a C.O.D which will state the day of scrappage alongside the VAT number and details of the scrapyard.
- This can all be provided electronically although can take upwards of 7-9 working days.
If you require a C.O.D, please get in touch quoting your booking details and email so we can have this sent over to you.
We hope you understand how our collection process works.
Any issues regarding your booking, don’t hesitate to contact the team, quoting your vehicle reg and postcode as reference.
